Get Involved: Multiply Your Vote!

Ohana is Hawaiian for extended family. We need you to activate your family and friends because they will be most likely to pay attention to you. Multiply your vote!

Take the Ohana Challenge!

Step 1 - Check Voteforchange to register you and your family to vote at your current addresses. You can fill out the form and print a registration for someone else. Just have them sign it. Then stamp and mail it!

Step 2 - Talk to at least five family members or friends about the issues in the upcoming election. See below for advice on how to speak to them! Call up everyone you know in the following battleground states; Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Step 3 - Spread the word! To build our Ohana Obama community, copy & paste the following into your IM profile and away message:

Join the OhanaObama Facebook Group. Post about us on MySpace, Twitter, or any other websites you use and ask friends to join you.

Step 4 - Share your story to inspire others – record a video or write about your experience. You might be invited to join the Ohana Team!

Ideas to Get the Conversation Started

Approaching your parents about who they are voting for can be intimidating if you’ve never talked about politics with them before. But this campaign isn’t about the old Washington politics — it’s about you and the issues that matter to you. Here are some ideas for ways you can talk to your parents about these topics:

Think about their perspective. If they are Republican, or are concerned about Barack’s policies, think about where they are coming from and what makes them think the way that they do.
